Kiss My Card Privacy Policy

Introduction
If you are a Kiss My Card customer, subscriber, or visitor to my website or Facebook page, this policy applies to you and, although long winded and honestly a bit boring, you should probably read it carefully. This policy contains as much as possible about how I collect, use and store personal information from my customers and followers. However if you still have any questions after reading this, please contact me at Info@kissmycard.co.uk

Personal information I collect
When you contact Kiss My Card via my website, by email, phone, Facebook, Instagram or in person, you might provide me with details such as your name, address and email address. More than likely you will only give me this information if you are buying (or thinking about buying) my stuff.

When you shop on Etsy you will give them information such as your name, address and email address to Etsy and they are only authorised to pass this on to me when you place an order....they need to or I can't post it to you.

When you buy a personalised card or gift you may also need to provide other relevant information so I can complete your order with the correct personal details.

When you sign up to my newsletter you provide your name and email address, I won't ask you for anything else.

When you visit my website some information from your computer or mobile device, including, but not limited to, your browser type, operating system, IP address and the domain name from which you accessed the site may automatically be collected. This is covered in more detail at the end of this policy under “Cookies”.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I never have access to your financial information when you make payments via my Etsy shop or website, or Paypal (invoiced payments) or bank transfer. All sensitive financial information is held securely by the processing companies, and they never share this with me, or anyone else. In all honesty it's not a responsibility I'd want to have anyway!

How and Why I collect information
I treat your privacy very seriously so I only collect and use information for the following reasons:
Where I have your explicit consent (eg when you sign up to my newsletter)
To fulfil my contractual obligations to you when you purchase from me
For the purpose of my legitimate interests, eg to provide a service you requested, to operate my business (eg completing my tax return) or to improve my ongoing customer service
To comply with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
Otherwise in accordance with the law.
I use Mailchimp to manage my mailing list. I will only ever add you to this list if you give your clear consent, either by signing up to receive my newsletter, or specifically asking me to add you to it. You can also opt out at any time, but really I'm useless at actually sending emails, so I'll never spam you, and the ones I do send usually have bribes - I mean shopping incentives - in them.

Whenever you order from me, either directly, via my website, Facebook page, Instagram or through my online Etsy shop, I need enough information about you (name, address and email etc) to enable me to process the order, provide customer support and settle disputes (not that I think we need to worry about the last one!).

If you get in touch via the contact form here on my Website I will assume you are giving me consent to use the information you provide so I can reply....it would be a bit pointless using it otherwise, I guess!

My website has cookies enabled to improve the site and enable me to deliver the best possible service and customer experience. You can find out more about my cookies below. My cookies are unfortunately not edible.

Who has access to your information
Aside from the trusted third parties mentioned below this is simple - just me!
As the designer-maker, product photographer, marketing rep (ie social media spammed), accountant, packer and customer service person - basically the sole worker at Kiss My Card, I am the only individual who ever has access to your information, and I never, ever pass this on to anyone else.

I use Zenstores as my dispatch manager, collating orders from each platform into one place to help me process orders more efficiently. You can read their privacy policy on their website.

I use MailChimp as a way of managing my Mailing List, and your details are stored on their secure servers. You can read their privacy policy and terms of use on their website if you really want to. Mailchimp is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield framework.

If you shop on Etsy, they will hold information about you. They take the security of your data very seriously. All credit card information sent to Etsy is encrypted using SSL technology and stored in a PCI compliant environment. Etsy follows industry standards to protect other payment and personal information, both during transmission and after it is received. You can read their Privacy Policy on their website.

If you pay me using PayPal, they will hold information about you. They take the security of your data very seriously, using secure servers and the maximum level of SSL encryption protection commercially available. I think you can probably guess where to read their privacy policy..... (their website, obvs).

If you pay me via the website I will never see any of your payment information, just that you've paid and that it's not a fraudulent transaction. My website is powered by Shopify so you can pop over and read their privacy policy if you want to check that out.

If you get in touch via Facebook or Instagram they will hold information about you. They take the security of your data very seriously. Facebook is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield framework.

How I use your information

If you buy something from Kiss My Card on any platform I will use the information you have provided to get in touch if I need to update you on your order. I might need to clarify some details (usually personalisation or incomplete addresses) which I'll usually do via email, messenger or Etsy convos. I will then use your address information to make sure your purchase reaches you safely....that bit is kind of an essential part of the process. If your parcel gets damaged or lost during shipping (touch wood, very rare!) I will use your contact details to chase it up with my Shipping provider, Royal Mail, and if necessary to make a claim so I can either replace the item for you or provide a refund.
I retain information about completed orders to comply with tax legislation (I have to keep this information for 6 years otherwise I can get in trouble with the tax man!)

I send out very occasional newsletters to those who have signed up to my mailing list... As mentioned before, I'm useless at remembering to do this. My newsletters only provide information about Kiss My Card and my products. They may also contain some swears. The sort of thing you can expect to receive is:
Information about new products I have on my website
A sneak peek at new designs I am working on
Behind the scenes photos - not really, my office is a mess!
Other information about what is happening behind the scenes
Occasional offers exclusive to members of my mailing list
Subscribers to my mailing list can opt out at any time. There is an opt-out message at the bottom of each of my newsletters, or you can contact me directly and ask to be removed.

If you have completed the contact form on my website, or got in touch via Facebook or Instagram messaging, you can expect to hear from me using the contact information you've provided.
How I store information
I don't, basically - any information is only stored by the third parties mentioned previously

Your rights
You can ask me at any time what information I hold about you, and I will give you full details free of charge. You also have the right to ask that your details be deleted, amended or transferred, unless I need them for legal reasons.

You may object to me processing some of your information based on my legitimate interests and to receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using your information or if I need it for legal reasons. In these instances I would clearly explain why I need to retain your information.

Finally, if you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information, you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

There's a helpful article you can read on the Which? website if you want to find out more about the General Data Protection Regulations ( GDPR). Find it here.
Cookies
My Kiss My Card website uses a number of cookies. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that I put on your computer if you agree. Cookies are very helpful and can be used for various different purposes. These purposes include allowing you to navigate between pages efficiently, enable automatic activation of certain features, remembering your preferences and making the interaction between you and my website services quicker and easier. Cookies are also used to help ensure that the advertisements you see are relevant to you and your interests and to compile statistical data on your use of the website. In summary - they make the Internet work and are not edible.

My Kiss My Card website uses the following types of cookies:

a. 'session cookies' which are stored only temporarily during a browsing session in order to allow normal use of the system and are deleted from your device when the browser is closed;

b. 'persistent cookies' which are read only by the Site, saved on your computer for a fixed period and are not deleted when the browser is closed;

c. 'third party cookies' which are set by other online services who run content on the page you are viewing, for example by third party analytics companies who monitor and analyse our web access.

Cookies do not contain any information that personally identifies you, but Personal Information that I store about you may be linked, by me, to the information stored in and obtained from cookies. If you prefer not to allow cookies you can change your preferences in your browser to restrict or block them, however if you disable cookies some features of the Kiss My Card website may not operate properly and your online experience may be limited.

I also very occasionally use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about your use of the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users access the Site, what pages they visit when they do so, etc. I use the information I get from Google Analytics only to improve my Site and services. Google Analytics collects the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit sites, rather than your name or other identifying information. I do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this Site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. I don't really understand the analytics if I'm honest, and only look at it once in a blue moon to remind myself I don't understand it.
